In The Fires That Never End

《The Gallery》是一張哥登堡風格的旋律死金專輯。我以前不知道什麼是「哥登堡」，一開始聽到這種奇妙的風格時，還以為這是一張另類的歌德專輯。但是在我多聽幾遍後，愈來愈確定它是死金而不是歌德。這張專輯的給我的感覺並不是歌德的那種「唯美」，也不是我之前聽到的死金那種「痛快」。《The Gallery》讓我想到的畫面，是在歌德式的房屋裡放火唱歌，而且大家都穿得很歌德(抱歉我聽歌常有這種奇怪的想像，想他們穿什麼...大概是以前愛看漫畫的後遺症XD)。

難得有一張專輯鍵盤份量或是管絃樂佔這麼少比例還能讓我這麼愛的(平常都愛聽symphonic metal XD)，我想這是《The Gallery》的音樂其妙之處，他們的音樂乍聽之下很吵，但是在那樣吵雜的聲音底下又藏著他們獨特的寂靜與黑暗。我個人最喜歡的部份是吉他。吉他的旋律好優雅，藏在沉重的鼓聲下，訴說著孤獨與痛苦。





以下是我特別愛的幾首
1.Punish My Heaven

一開始的鼓我超愛。

We are the outstretched fingers
That seize and hold the wind...
一切由優美的旋律+嘶吼開始，這就是這整張專輯的風格。

If I had wings, would I be forgiving?
If I had horns
Would there be flames to shy my smile?
有種很玄妙的墜落感，彷彿全世界都要一起沉入華麗的黑暗世界之中。



5.The Gallery


主菜來了(我想與專輯同名的歌應該是主菜)，從淡淡哀愁的吉他聲開始。
Come and dance through my vanity's halls
Welcome to my exhibition
第一次聽就愛上的歌。旋律歌詞都好好聽。

One lonely portrait covers the lovestarved canvas
In honour of the birthless rebellion within me
Every picture holds a tale
Every shade tells of a thousand words
這部份的女聲也不錯，雖然很多人覺得這是敗筆，但是我喜歡。

To never return to my guidance
Burning my art
愛這首的氣氛，理由我也說不上來。




8.Lethe

整首感覺很像一齣電影高潮迭起的段落。
In currents of cobalt
You storm through my heart
To sever, to puncture
The memories that burn
Let sweep through the arteries
In sharp stabs of pain
Your talonlike fingers to kill me again
口白部份，第二次是和女聲一起念，就像電影中男女主角談判的部份。

Steal me, invade me and charge me again
For I burn and I shudder
Burn with each movement of

So, cleansed through a floodlight
I appear; reforged and renewed
Caressed by the sweet balm and blessing
Of forgetfulness, empty and strong
Lethe,
後半很像是聽一名瘋狂藝術家的自白，還配上了極度有情緒感染力的配樂。

Hold me near, my one friend and guide
As I drown through your fingers
Drown through your love
For you are the life I hate
You are my
Lethe
接著安靜了一會兒，不禁讓我想到這位藝術家自殘，慢慢的他讓自己的血流滿地的畫面。
雖然實際歌詞意思不盡然是如此，但這是我第一次仔細聽這首歌時的感覺


10.Mine is the Grandeur...
11.... Of Melacholy Burning

最後這兩首的氣氛超棒，在強勁的音樂中又藏著淡淡的憂鬱，令人回味。
